Being a mummy with 3 children, I have done my fair share of travelling with kiddies in tow. I have probably made all the errors that could be made when travelling with the kids, I have forgotten nappies, baby wipes, and once I even forgot the bottles!!! Nowadays I am more organised, probably as I have had to be and have definatly learnt the hard way through my mistakes!
Next week we are off on our holiday. Its nothing fancy, and I doubt anyone will be jealous of our 7 day break in Dorset, but to us it’s a much needed holiday and break from the everyday busy lifes we lead! I decided to put together a post of all the important items that I think are great for travelling with babies/children.
MAM anti colic self sterilising bottles.
A must have if your baby still has bottles. My son is 15 months old and still has a bottle at night (shhh don’t tell the health visitor!!) Being away from home, I know how manic it having a bottle fed baby. The one thing that made my life so much easier was MAM anti colic self sterilising bottles. You can simply take the bottle apart, use the lid as a measuring device to put water in the base, you simply pop it all in the microwave as per instructions for 2 minutes, and there you have a sterilised bottle ready to feed baby again! This means no taking your bulky steriliser with you! You can buy the MAM anti-colic self sterilising bottle from the official MAM website http://mamonlineshop.com/
Milk powder dispenser.
There is nothing worse than needing to make up a feed from a box of powder while on the go, but Brother max do a very good milk powder dispenser which you can pop pre measured doses of milk powder into ready to pour straight into the bottle. There is no corners with the funky design so you rest assured that every dose is correct. This is defiantly more cost effective than buying ready made cartons of formula. You can read more about it on the Brother Max website at http://www.brothermax.com/product-details/30106/Milk-powder-dispenser.htm
Gro-Blind
We absolutely love our Gro anywhere blind! We use if as a full time blind in our house for my son. The idea is simple but oh so effective. Its a black out blind that folds up and into a little bag that has suckers on it. You simply fasten the blind to any window with the suckers, creating an instant black out blind. Its perfect for keeping out the bright sunshine on summer mornings, I swear by mine! The Gro-Blind is available from http://www.foryourchild.co.uk/ for the special offer price of £25.00.
Goldbug reins
Goldbug reins are the cutest reins that could ever exsist! They are a funky animal backpack which secures around your toddler and has a lead/tail that you can hold to stop losing your active toddler. We love ours!! You can read our full review at and buy your own from the webiste www.goldbug.eu http://www.blogbybaby.com/2011/06/goldbug-harness-buddy-toddler-backpack.html
Little jet setters grab n go pack
We recently reviewed little jet setters grab and go pack and cant wait to take it with us on our journey next week. It has everything you need to keep a baby/toddler/child happy, or in my case, all 3! You can read our full review here at http://www.blogbybaby.com/2011/06/little-jet-setters-grab-and-go-pack-and.html
Trunki do the cutest kiddie friendly suitcases and accessories. My son is totally in love with the Gruffalo case he saw at the show! The great thing about the trunkis is that your child can ride on them if they get tired, or they can pull them and feel really independent and helpful. They are great for getting your child really involved with the packing. Find out more on the Trunki website http://www.trunki.com/
KidsKit Portable booster seat
This portable booster seat is lightweight, versatile and is really compact! It is perfect for popping in the car as it takes up no room at all. You can then simply pop it on a normal chair in a resturant and you have an instant safe seat for your child! You can buy the portable booster seat from http://www.icbaby.com/ and read our full review here at http://www.blogbybaby.com/2011/06/kidskit-hi-seat-portable-booster-review.html
This is a universal fitting sun shade, so you can fit it to almost all pushchairs. The fabric has the benefit of being UPF 50+ , so it is perfectly safe to keep the sun off your baby/child. It features a pop up design, meaning it takes up no room for travelling. You can buy the Sunshine Kids Shade Maker from http://www.foryourchild.co.uk/ for just £10.99 with free postage.
This potty is ingenious. It is perfect for travelling, not other potty compares for travelling. It has a sealable lid, so nothing can leak out and enables you to dispose of the contents at a more convienant time. It has a carry handle that little ones love to drag around. My son loves his.
