I was excited to recieve some Galt Bouncy Balls to test out for izziwizzikids.co.uk
The idea of these is that you can create your own glow in the dark bouncy balls!
Inside the box was 8 packets of glow in the dark crystals, 2 different sized ball moulds, and an instruction leaflet.
My tiny tester for this was Jordan who is 8. Jordan has autism so alot of the time he is inside his own little bubble and doesn’t talk much. So I am always looking for activities to engage him and bring him out of himself a bit more.
The instructions were clear and very easy! All you do is snap the two sides of the ball moulds together. They are then ready to fill up with the crystals. You then tap the ball gently to pack the crystals down. Then you drop it into a glass of cold water for 2 minutes. You then take it out of the water and leave to dry for a further 2 minutes. You can then crack the ball open and there you have a bouncy ball!
When the ball first comes out of the mould it is slightly sticky. You are meant to run it under water and leave it to dry. But Jordan isn’t very patient and had to have a play with it! It has still turned out ok though.
Here is our video review
This was a great simple activity that really interested Jordan. I really think that both boys and girls would love this.
As mentioned in the video, the instructions do have some health advice which was worrying at first, but as it is recommended for children aged 8+ I know he is old enough to know not to eat it. It did reassure me though that if in event of digestion I would know what to do. I also made sure that my younger son Mark was in bed first before we played with this.
Jordan is super excited about taking his glow in the dark bouncy balls to bed tonight, lets just hope they aren’t bounced around the room all night!
