I make no secret of the fact my daughters middle name is Ladybird, and she has always been a fan of Ladybirds…so when I saw this Little Live Ladybug Garden, I knew she had to have it!
Little Live is a company we have experienced before, my daughter has a huge obsession with Turtles too, and she adores her Little Live Turtles that swim and are the perfect no fuss pet, but would the Ladybugs live up to the same standard?
The playset arrived, and I was really impressed with the design. It’s not a huge playset, but it’s definitely not too big that it becomes one of those toys that you can’t find a home for as it’s too large, this fits inside an IKEA Kallax in a Drona box perfectly. It has a cute garden design, and has a great place for your Ladybugs to live. You get an exclusive ‘Spotsy’ Ladybug included in the set, and it comes complete with it’s own baby one which attaches to the back of it just by slotting in the black plastic, so it follows the big one around.
To activate the ladybug is really easy, you just use the little switch underneath on the bigger ladybird, the baby one does not move by itself, so make sure it’s attached to go for a ride. The ladybug comes to life instantly and runs everywhere! You get two ramps included which attach to the front at each side, so your Ladybugs can get in and out of the garden.
The playset has an elevator which means your ladybugs can get up to the top without you having to pick them up, just turn the purple flower and then travel through the cute house and they slide down all by themselves. At the bottom they twist and turn around the moving post and twirl around the garden.
We were also sent an extra pack of Ladybugs which you can buy separately too, they retail at £5.99 per pack which includes one big and one baby one. This is a great price, perfect pocket money toy, and I really do think having more Ladybugs does enhance the play factor.
Overall we are loving the Little Live Pets Lil’ Ladybug Garden, it is everything I hoped and my daughter loves playing with it, and even lets me join in too, win! You can buy this from all good toy retailers, including Toys R Us and Argos right now for an RRP of £22.99.
