So after week two, I was feeling a little hmm about it all. I had been super good, but I stupidly self weighed and I didn’t see any difference on the scales. I made a promise to myself that if the scales didn’t show a 2lb loss, then I would pack it in. But I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I had lost 3lb , woo!
With my new found energy, I decided to be extra good for the week and give it 100%. But that night, I came down with a hacking sore throat, which is a massive indicator to me that I have a dreadful cold coming. True enough, I woke up the next day with a real stinker of a cold and a throat which felt like I had swallowed razor blades.
I decided to ring my consultant to find out if I needed to start eating something so I could take painkillers, I was half expecting her to say no, but she said best to step up to the next stage of my Cambridge Weight Plan, and eat off the allowed list. She did say to keep taking the shakes, as they have so many nutrients and vitamins they will help, she even said to have an extra if needed. Finally, after a chat about leather satchels (satchel addicts!), she said not to worry about putting on weight when I am feeling rough, and that if I do put on, I can always get it off again when I am feeling better. That made me feel so much better about the slice of toast I had prior to my anadin. Since then I have concentrated to my shakes, and drinking water, and if I felt like I needed food after having them, then I have had a little something. I genuinely don’t care if I put on a few pounds at the moment, I feel that rough!
All the kids have stinking colds too, and it’s a miserable day here with rain lashing down. It feels odd, I don’t want to stuff my face with chocolate like normal, my comfort is my shakes. They are yum, and I know they are good for me, could it be I have turned a corner? Ii want to have these shakes for the foreseeable! My ideal diet would be these shakes for Breakfast and Lunch when I am on the run, then a healthy balanced dinner, with the occasional treat at weekends. Not that hard, right?
Well I am now officially in Week Three, I have 5 days until my next weight in, wish me luck!
