For the past week, I have been keeping my thoughts on the start of my Cambridge Weight Plan journey, as well as the first few days on the Cambridge Weight Plan. Please do pop over and take a look at the posts if you are curious. But here is the latest instalments. Remember,  I am not a medical professional, this is my own personal experience, if you are looking to do something similar I suggest you seek professional advice from CWP  and your doctor.

Day Seven:

I am buzzing for weigh in day.  I cannot wait to see what I have achieved this week! I am feeling good, and motivated! My weigh in time isn’t until 1.45, which is a bit annoying as I will be full of water and shakes by then, so that’s extra potential weight, ha! But I know I have lost something which is awesome in itself. I have treated myself to a weightloss chalkboard, shall show you when it arrives, but I am hopinh it motivates me more. I am still tempted to go off plan and eat some carbs, and I know that this wouldn’t actually make me stop losing weight as I am reducing my calories throughout the week, but I cannot weigh up if the carbs would be worth it when I would have to go through ketosis again after! All those headaches and feeling poop…

Weigh in results are in…I got to my appointment and my consultant was running late, I was thankful as I was full of water and needed a wee…also hoped that wee would mean difference on the scale (wishful thinking). I jumped on the scale, uncomfortable and nervous, and found out I have lost 8 pounds this week. Yes, I know that sounds OK, but reading forums with people losing 11 pounds it’s a little disheartening, but at least it wasn’t even lower. I know this is the first chunk, as the rest will slow down now and it’s kinda made me a little sad that it wasn’t more. But hey-ho, I am getting nearer to my target. Just got to keep going….

Day Eight:

I flumped. I bought a chocolate twist from the bakery, my mouth was watering. I tucked into it and got that oozing chocolate, then realised that actually, it didn’t taste THAT amazing, and certainly not amazing enough to fall off track. OK, so I ate most of it, sigh, but I won’t be doing that for a long while. It made me realise the cravings are in my head, and they aren’t even that amazing if I was to eat them. I’ve kicked myself up the bum, had my chocolate shake with caramel coffee for lunch, and I am back to losing….lets just forget about the chocolate twist….

So now the first week is over, I am not going to bore you all with a day to day diary, but I will probably do a weekly one to keep myself motivated.

Summary:

My first week of the CWP was a rocky one. At times I felt I couldn’t do it, but reality is I was more than capable. It made me realise where I am going wrong with food, I am a picker and I normally eat ‘what I fancy’, rather than meal plan and stick to it, meaning I make bad food choices and comfort eat. Removing all food from the equation has not only given me an insight, but it has made me realise that life shouldn’t revolve around food.  My food intake previously to this was awful, I ate whatever I fancied, and as a chocoholic that was nearly always something high in calories. I feel healthier, I am even getting more nutrients than I did before, I never ate vegetables and fruit, so my vitamins and mineral levels must of been shocking. Now I know my shakes are giving me everything I need, all while I am losing weight. I am not saying it is an easy way to lose weight, it’s emotionally (and sometimes physically) draining, and it requires willpower and hard work, but if you want quick results, CWP could be for you.

I have no professional relationship with Cambridge Weight Plan and Ii am not being compensated for this,  all thoughts(and weight loss) are my own and 100% honest. I hope it gives someone the insight if they are considering CWP.

  1. wow,

This is exactly what I needed to see, real struggles with the mind on nit to eat what I am used to eating and the courage to get up and try again after falling for that desire for the forbidden food. I am on my day 2 and whenever I feel like cheating I just google blogs and drink my vegetable water and its meal time in no time.

    Thanks for sharing.
