If you haven’t already got one booked, now’s the time to start thinking about your summer holiday! It’s only a few short months until the school summer holidays, so if you have a family don’t wait any longer to start thinking about booking a break somewhere hot.

Unfortunately, having children means that you’re restricted as to when you can take summer breaks, unless you’re willing to take the kids out of school. The same applies to teachers who have to wait until peak summer season to take a holiday. The good thing about taking a holiday at this time of year is that the weather is pretty much guaranteed to be lovely in any of the most popular package holiday spots: Greece, Turkey, Spain… all of these destinations enjoy dry and sunny weather July-August.

The bad thing about taking your holidays abroad during the peak summer season of course is that you’ll pay more than if you go out of season, either slightly earlier or slightly later. There are ways to save money despite going abroad in the middle of the school holidays however. One of the easiest ways to budget and get the best value holiday as a family is to get an all-inclusive package deal with a reputable company such as Jet2holidays.

All-inclusive deals mean you don’t have to save separately for your drinks, food and even some entertainment, as it’s all included in the package. The advantage of this is that you know up front exactly how much you’re going to spend on your holiday and there are no nasty surprises when you come towards the end of your holiday and realise you haven’t got enough money left for meals out or drinks round the pool, and have to start digging into the credit card. With an all-inclusive holiday you can usually drink and eat to your heart’s content at the hotel, so there’s no fretting about running out of cash.

Of course, how much is included in your all-inclusive package is something you need to establish at the time of booking. Some resorts and companies will offer entertainment and things like watersports as part of the deal; other resorts might have several restaurants to choose from so that even though you’re eating at the resort every night, you have plenty of choice.

There are loads of great all all inclusive holidays for 2013 around at the moment. The best advice is to do some research online to find a destination and a package that suits you. Then all that remains is to book it, pack it and jet off!
