This weekend was a manic one, I live for my lazy Sunday. It’s the only day of the week where I can chill out knowing that none of the family has to be anywhere. Except, this Sunday was different. I agreed to travel into London to meet up with my parents as well as my sister and brother in law. The plan sounded simple, me leaving two kids at home with my husband, while I took two with me to the Science Museum.

How hard could it be? I decided to put Emma in the baby carrier, I had to take a pushchair for my sister. Ever since she was pregnant, I have been providing her with pushchairs for my niece. Only the time has come when she wants something more compact than the travel system she was using. She lives in a flat in Central London, so a bulky travel system is not ideal. This time I took her a stroller. Only problem was, I had to bring the bulky travel system home. On the train. Alone. It was horrendous, our trains are not suitable for pushchairs, and with a bag of presents for my son, as well as a baby and a changing bag, it just wasn’t going to be easy. It took me 5 hours to get home, but the relief when I got in was rather lovely.

Today I have been playing catch up, washing, tidying, plus all the usual stuff I should be doing today too. It’s amazing how one day off can put you so far behind!! Tomorrow I have deliveries due from Rapid Parcel as well as my new washing machine. I have the weekly shopping to do tomorrow too. I hate spending my husband’s day off doing boring things, I would much rather do fun things, but fun things we just don’t seem to find time for any more sadly. So my mission for February is to try and make some time where we can do something remotely fun, even a meal out, or even a walk. Life is so busy, it’s easy to forget to take some time to slow down and appreciate what you have.
