I don’t ‘do’ trick or treating, I find it confusing that people tell children to knock on strangers doors to get sweets while dressed up in scary outfits. Now, yes this is quite scrooge of me, and my friends who have children who do part take in Trick or Treating always come to visit and I don’t mind handing them out, but I just wouldn’t send my kids out doing it. It really is just my personal opinion.
However, I do like to celebrate Halloween with the kiddies. We get the house kitted out in spooky stuff and have spooky stuff to eat, we do Halloween arts and crafts and even some baking! Any excuse for some fun. So here are a few bits that I have spied on my travels this year that I think would be perfect for Halloween…
LEGO Monster Fighters.
Yes we are massive LEGO fans, J who is 10 is obsessed. So when he spied these little treasures his eyes lit up..
The Vampyre Castle (#9468 RRP:£79.99) is where the Vampyre will unite the monsters’ magical moonstones in a terrible ceremony that will cloak the world in darkness forever and allow monsters to roam free for all eternity! It’s a quest for our heroes, Dr. Rodney Rathbone and Jack McHammer to dodge the castle’s spiders, hidden spikes and traps to deactivate the moonstone device. Or will the Vampyre’s bride and manbats throw them into the castle dungeon?
It is a little pricey, but his is the ultimate set, there are cheaper sets available in the range.

I don’t like the idea of trick-or-treating either, thankfully there are mostly pensioners living in our street, so there’s not threat of them knocking on our door, dressed in Hallowe’en outfits.
Like the cookie kit, I know many Moshi monsters fans would love it.
