Baby Emma is at that tender age of just 5 months, when she is so curious about the world but not yet able to sit unaided. To make life easier there is an amazing product available to help in such circumstances….the Bumbo Floor Seat. Suitable from when babies can hold their own head up, it helps your baby to sit in an upright position.
We were sent a Bumbo Floor Seat to review with baby Emma, and for the past few weeks we have been putting it through it’s paces.
The Bumbo Floor Seat comes complete with no assembly required, you simply open the box and remove the whole seat. The only adjustments needed is to adjust the straps to suit your child’s size, to get your child secure.
You can add the tray on if you so wish. The tray comes in two parts, which simply click together. They are then clipped onto the actual seat.
The seat enables Emma to be in an upright position, which although you might think isn’t advisable, this quote from www.bumbo.com reassured me totally;
“The floor seat stabilizes the child into slight hip flexion, placing the pelvis in a slight anterior pelvic tilt which facilitates lumbar extension. This action, combined with the gentle curve of the seat back that matches the natural curve of the rib cage, facilitates the baby around the lower ribs and trunk for stabilization. The Seat allows for active practice of the head and postural trunk control. It also allows a child the pelvic stability needed to get the hands into the mid line for play. Upright positioning facilitates an improved visual field of the environment, improved respirations and breath control, assists a baby who needs to be upright after feeding due to reflux and many other benefits.”
The Bumbo has quickly became a favourite place for Emma to be, and with the good weather outside, we have found it great for garden use too.
Emma loves using the tray on her Bumbo, it acts as a great place to eat and play with her toys…or even her brothers toys!
The whole thing, seat and tray cleans up beautifully with soapy water, and a quick wipe of the tray with antibacterial is enough to keep it looking like new, despite the rusk mess!

I bought a Bumbo for Little Man and he was comfy enough to fall asleep in his! Thought it expensive though especially as not in it for long but did what it said on the box xx
