Earlier this week we reviewed the Real Baking Cake Pops set, and what a hit it was! Today we decided to get serious and crack out the Great Baking Set from the Real Baking Range.
Included in the set is:
2 bowls, one large one small.
One bowl suction device.
Egg cracker (why haven’t I ever had one of these in my life before?!)
Measuring spoons
One silicone cupcake mould
16 Cake cases
Piping bags and nozzle.
So we set to work making some cupcakes first! Although you get no ingredients in the set, this is great as I like to pick my own. Or if I am feeling mega lazy (I am no Mary Berry), buy a packet mix and use that. The suction device is really handy, you attach it to the worktop and then put one of the bowls on top, so it doesn’t slide about when little ones are stirring. Our worktops are slightly raised though, so it didn’t stick well, but on our table it was great.
The egg cracker is awesome, and something I would happily use whenever I need to crack an egg. You simply pop and egg inside, and push the top. The egg cracks and lands in the plastic tray attached on the bottom. Great for little hands to help even more when baking.
The cake cases included fit inside the moulds perfectly, they are smaller than your average cake case, but are a perfect size for my kids to eat and not waste any extra cake by just eating the icing (yes, my kids waste cake, shocking behaviour!). The silicon mould is good quality, and although it is small, it means that Emma can make her own cakes and I can pop them in the oven alongside my usual batch too. It means she can have her very own cakes while I get to make a bigger batch.
We have had great fun with the Real Baking Great Baking Set, with an RRP of £19.99, it is a little expensive for what you get inside, but we had great fun with it and will get plenty of use out of it. We use the tools for other baking too, and as our showstopper, we made brownies! You can check out the website www.vividtoysandgames.co.uk/real-baking for the full range and to find a stockist.
Using Divine Baking Chocolate, these brownies are yummy!
