BRIO is a name that I have been bought up with, their iconic train track was something I grew up with, and as I had my own children, I couldn’t wait to purchase some for them (and me) to play with.
BRIO is a brand that I have trusted, one that is known for making quality wooden goods, made to last childhood and even the roughest of children. So when this Rocking Horse turned up for review I hoped it would live up to my high standards and expectations of BRIO products. This fabulous looking Rocking Horse is actually inspired by the first toy ever made by BRIO back in 1907!
Building the BRIO Rocking Horse was simple, it comes with everything you need to complete it, even a tool to put it together. Even just putting it together, it was clear to see how durable and robust the materials are used to make this beautiful toy. All of the wood, as with all BRIO products is FSC certified wood which means its traceable and comes from responsible forestry.
Of course, the real test is using it, and I pleased to see that not only is it the perfect size for toddlers, but that the shape of the rocking base means that it rocks really well, unlike some cheaper versions we have trialled previously. There is ample space for feet to rest on, a large seat and great sized handles to stop little ones falling off or losing grip. I adore the tail detail too! The simple, but lovely colours of the horse are perfect for little ones, the primary colours of white, red and yellow mean that it stands out, is recognisable as a horse and can become the perfect companion. At the same time the accents of the seat and the middle of the horse means you can see the good quality wood, no veneer in sight!
I am absolutely in love with this product, it is fantastic quality, durable, fun and would last generations of children. It is priced at £69.99 which is a very good price for such a wonderful product that will last. It is the perfect first Christmas or Birthday present, and I would definitely recommend this.
