What do you buy a toddler for their Birthday or Christmas? I get asked that question a million times over, and my answer is always the same, a toy cooker. There is so many benefits of a toy cooker, it helps role play, promotes independence and learning through play. It is not just something that a child uses alone, but a tool to use to play with everyone.
We were recently sent the Hape Kitchen to review from Marbel Toys.
The box arrived small and compact, with me wondering how big it would be when built, but the contents of that box was like Mary Poppins handbag, and the parts just kept coming.
My initial fear was how to assemble it, as a single mum it was a case of me and a screwdriver, not always the best combo. But with the step by step instructions included, I set to work. With Bemma in tow, it took me only about 20 minutes to make from a pile of bits, the most beautiful play cooker.
The cooker is made from sturdy wood, the pieces slot together beautifully, with pre-drilled holes to help. There is a working door for the oven, which has a magnet to help keep it shut. The clock has moving hands, and the sink is removeable. Included in the set is a few accessories, including sauce pan, frying pan, spoon and spatula, these are solid, sturdy and fantastic quality that will last even the most boisterous toddler.
The best thing about this is the play factor, years of play factor, million cups of imaginary tea and it is built so well you will passing it down to the next child or relatives children.
