There is something very endearing about a child who believes. Last Christmas my 5 year old son had an elf visit the house daily, he would post a little present through the door every single night. One night he left Elf seeds and instructions on how to plant them, the next morning he woke up to find candy canes had started to grow!
So when the Irish Fairy Door offered to send us our very own Fairy, well how could I say no?! I knew this would bring us more magic, and all year round too.
The first important task is to pick a door, now this is a very important decision because you need to be sure you are getting the right fairy to come and live with you. We decided that a Red Arched Door would be perfect, although we were unsure where exactly to put the door.
When the box arrived, I was more than impressed. It is a good sized box and looks lovely! It is laid out nicely and would make an utterly fantastic gift for anyone. Inside is more than just a door too, there is stepping stones, and a teeny bottle which has the magic key inside. There is also a book which explains all about the Fairy and how they came to be this magical Fairy Door.
We decided pretty quickly that the our Fairy needed to live in the girls room, just by Emma’s special night-light. That way her Fairy could always keep Emma company when she was lonely. Emma proudly named her Fairy ‘Rainbow’ as she is sure that she has rainbow hair!
As a parent, I am loving having the Fairy live with us, she comes in useful for all manner of tasks, leaving treats when good behaviour is happening and even exchanging notes too. I am sure with Christmas coming up she will be even more busy making sure the children all behave, after all I hear that fairy’s are friends with the elves and we all know that the Elves tell Santa everything!
Finally, you can also log onto theirishfairydoorcompany.com and use all the extra services available for free once you have purchased a Fairy Door and entered the special code, although my Emma is a little young to use this independently, her 11 year old sister is loving it! There is stories, tips, and even a gallery showing what other Fairy’s get up to. It is definitely worth a look.
We were sent the Irish Fairy Door for the purpose of giving our opinions, all thoughts are our own.
