I am a book lover, always have been. Ever since I began to read when I was about 4, I was addicted to books. I was lucky as my parents were keen for me to read, and indulged me in new books whenever I wanted them. I loved picking out a new book, I have many fond memories of all my favourites as I grew up. Starting off with the picture books, Elmer, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Mog. As I grew up it became ‘Babysitters Club, Enid Blyton and Point Horror’, before moving onto autobiographies and nowadays I will give practically anything a go when I get the time!

I have followed this tradition on with my own children, ever since they were born we have had story time. My babies used to love looking at the pictures and listening to me reading the story, as they grew older they loved touching the books, I found that the ‘That’s not my…’ range were fab for little fingers. Then there my utter favourite, Dear Zoo. It became one of Mark and Emma’s all time favourites, and still we read, even though Mark is 5! Of course he knows the words, and hearing him read it to his little sister is heart warming. There is now a website all dedicated to Dear Zoo and Friends, with activities, competitions, details of the books as well as games and a shop to buy merchandise. Check it out at www.dearzooandfriends.com
