On the 2nd November, 100 compeitors from 13 countries came together and competed in a variety of competitions. The event took place at University of Leicester, as Rubiks Cube celebrates their 40th anniversary.
Hats off to the well deserved winner…
Robert Yau, 21 from Guildford fought off stiff competition from his fellow speedcubers (and their fast feet) to win the 3×3 with feet competition in 1m 3.77 seconds. This was the first time this particular challenge had featured at the UK Championships and it proved very popular with the fascinated spectators! The current UK record holder and European Champion, 16 year old Alexander Lau won the overall 3×3 competition, winning the competition in a speedy 9.02 seconds, which crowned him the Rubik’s UK Champion 2014.
