As big Tree Fu Tom fans, we were excited to have the new Adventure Castle Playset turn up for review.
The box is quite large, it was met by gasps from Mark (3 years old and a big fan). Opening it up it does require a little assembly, but the instructions were straight forward and I easily completed it in a few minutes. It was then ready to play and explore!
On first impression I wasn’t impressed, it appeared to me just to be a plastic. But Mark was excited and quickly found out some very cool features.
First up is the light up seeking crystal, it comes with batteries included (yay!). It glows purple and looks pretty cool, it has its own little recessed hole where it fits perfectly. There is also a blue spot on the top level of the play set, which once pressed it also makes the crystal light up. But that’s not all, you can use the crystal to wave over the play set to find the secret hidden splats that only show up with the use of the light! Amazing!
Other features include a lift, spinning top which can have a character put inside it. There is a slide which makes a brilliant ramp to whizz Tom down on his leafboard. You do only get Tom included in the set, but other sets are available to buy separately. And how can I forget the trap door?! Simply turn the page of the spell book and the trap door opens and whatever is there falls through.
Marky loves this playset, it has created hours of fun from something that as an adult I didn’t think would have that much play value, oh how I was proved wrong! The RRP is £29.99, which I think it really reasonable for a Tree Fu Tom fan.
We were sent the Tree Fu Tom Adventure Castle Playset for the purpose of this review, all thoughts are my own.
