As Christmas fast approaches, I have some friends who are gasping at the word, some who are in complete denial and some who have already bought and wrapped all their presents already. This year I am so excited it is unreal, excited for Christmas 2013 with my children.
This time last year I was pregnant with Emma, I was suffering from HG, and felt absolutely awful. I tried my best to do what I could, but with Emma being born on 12/12/12, last Christmas was spent in a tired whirl that I can’t remember much of sadly. We had a tree, and a few decorations, but moving last year also meant that the majority of the beautiful Christmas decorations that I had spent years collecting, were still in storage. This year is going to be so different, I am thinking we need a real tree. We need to turn this house into Santas Grotto, complete with tinsel and fake snow.
I want to get the children involved in the Christmas excitement, using the advent calender to countdown. I want to get the children to make their own Christmas cards, write them all out and even post them. We are going to make our own Christmas decorations and hang them on the tree. We are even going to make our own gingerbread houses and decorate them.
This Christmas is going to be magical and filled to the brim with memories, that hopefully the children will remember for many many years to come.
