I am sure I am not alone when I say that I am completely guilty of taking the simple things for granted, simple things such as a clean toilet. Believe it or not, an estimated 250 billion live in the world without access to a clean toilet.

Domestos want to try and change this, they have joined up with UNICEF to help with CATS (Community Approaches to Total Sanitation). The whole idea behind CATS is to help change peoples behaviour, promote good hygiene and raise awareness of the crisis to help reduce disease. This video features some very cute kids, have a watch…

So how can you help? It’s super easy, just buy Domestos for your own clean toilet. Not only will it fight the germs that may be hiding in your toilet, but Domestos are contributing 5%of their average proceeds to help countries such as the Philppines, South Sudan and Vietnam and will also go towards improving sanitation in India, Indonesia and Brazil.

So what do they actually do with the money? Well in Ghana, Nicaragua and Sudan, schoolchildren are being reached with sanitation, safe water and hygiene facilities. In Vietnam, 600 community and local Government workers have
been trained on how to implement community and school led sanitation programmes. It’s these changes that will hopefully help raise awareness, and help stop diesese spreading and causing death. Harsh? Maybe, but it’s true. Every day 2000 children die from diarrhoea, something which could be controlled with the use of safe hygiene practises.

This is a sponsored post for Domestos, but all thoughts are my own.
