It’s not long until the kids go back to school, or for some it will be their first ever time attending school. It can seem scary and exciting, and that’s just the parents! For parents of new starters it can be worrying what you need for children to complete their homework in a different learning environment, or like me your children could be school veterans but struggle to get motivation to do their homework. I detest nagging the children to get their homework done, it’s my time to enjoy them. But there is a way to get them to want to do it….get them exciting stuff to do it with!
Here is a great video from Crayola about Back to School
Crayola, the brand I trust implicitly, have a massive range of colourful (and don’t forget washable) items all brilliant for kids to use.
There is Twistables…
Massively colourful and funky looking crayons which work like a pen, but they are crayon inside and you simply twist the end to get more crayon out as and when you need to. No more broken crayons, yay!
Supertips.
These are brilliant for homework, possibly the best in my opinion. They are bright and colourful, but they have fine tips so children can write with them easily, just like they do with a pencil at school. It makes their writing neater than using a chunky felt tip pen. They also have a slanted bit on the side, so you can colour quicker too. These are awesome for projects.
Crayons.
You cannot beat old fashioned crayons, and these bring back memories from my childhood. The peeling of the paper, the snapping one and being gutted, then realising you had two crayons instead. I love the way the children love them as much as me. They are fab for colouring in, scribbling and creating texture for the older ones. Younger ones will adore these as they literally take no effort to scribble with.
Coloured Pencils.
I love coloured pencils, yes it may be the geek in me, but there is nothing more satisfying than opening a new packet of pencils, seeing their sharp nibs all lined up and picking which one to use. The kids seem to share in this pleasure with me, and they adore this packet of 24 as they have all the colours you could ever need, including skin colour!
Honestly, give the children bright colourful things for them to do their homework and it does make it more interesting.
I was sent the products mentioned, but all thoughts/gushing/geeking is all my own words and thoughts.
