The thought of leaving the house for just a few when you have a baby in tow can be a daunting one, but when you contemplate the idea of a holiday with a baby in tow it is enough to make you break out in a sweat. Babies come with so much equipment, it is an eye opener if it is your first child. My sister has recently taken her first holiday since having her first child, and she has been on the telephone asking advice in the lead up to the big departure. When Allianz Global Assistance who provide Family Travel Insurance, asked if I would share my tips with you, I jumped at the chance
My advice is simple, but tried and trusted!
– Take a mini first aid kit. It doesn’t have to be big, but include the essentials such as a few plasters, some paracetamol, some calpol for the younger ones, some diarrhoea relief tablets, a bandage and antiseptic wipes. You can buy these pre-made from shops such as Halfords, or you can use a little make up bag and create your own.
-Antibacterial hand gel. This is a must, you never know what places you will end up and having something to quickly pop on your hands is invaluable, especially if you have a baby.
-If you are planning on driving your car, make sure you have had it serviced before you go, the last thing you need is an oil light pinging on while on a long journey. Also check all the tyres have the correct air in them, and top up your washer jets. Breakdown cover is also a must-have.
I hope just one of these helps to make your holiday a little easier, please do comment if you have one I haven’t included, I would love to hear them.
