It has been a few weeks since we had our last Waterbabies class, due to the Easter holidays. Starting back today I was concerned if Emma would of forgot everything she had learnt, and maybe forgot how much she enjoyed being in the water.
Our lesson was covered by another Waterbabies instructor, as ours was off ill. But everything run as it should, which impressed me massively. The instructor knew what we had done, and what we hadn’t, so it was great as we continued like normal. This week we progressed to two underwater swims with letting go of the babies. Emma was used for a demo though, so she got an extra underwater swim. We also started doing out swims walking backwards and carrying on with them on the surface after the babies have surfaced from their underwater swim. Emma is completely not phased by going underwater, she comes up with a look on her face like ‘Yeah…and?’.
The lesson took on the same usual routine, with the same songs that Emma reconises, she loves the ‘Splish splash’ song, and also at the end of the lesson we lay the babies on their back in the water and sing ‘Twinkle twinkle’, again, she loves it and reconises it as soon as we start singing.
I am so chuffed with how baby Emma is coping with the lessons and the water, it makes bath times happier and a calmer situation for us both. I feel more confident handling her in the water too., which is great as I am not very a very confident person around water with the children.
I am really looking forward to our next lesson, it’s mine and Emma’s special bonding time.
