It is always a worry when you put your precious baby in their cot for their first time, even now on my fourth child the worrying doesn’t get any less severe. In my 10 years of parenting things have changed loads, and we are now told that babies have to be positioned at the ‘feet to foot’ position, so their feet to the foot of the cot. This is to help prevent them slipping underneath their blankets. I have however found with my first three children that they would still slip down, and there feet would poke out of the cot. Not good when they were getting more mobile, as their ankles and legs often got caught and would hurt them.
When I was offered the Safababy to review, I knew that this would help keep my little babies feet inside her cot.
Opening up the box I am always dubious of assembling things, me and instruction so not mix. But I pleasantly surprised to find it is simply three pieces of plastic and the straps already attached. It looked more daunting than it was.
You simply slot the two plastic ends inside the middle one, adjust to the width of your cot, and pull and turn the fixings on each end to lock them into place. You then put the strap underneath the cot (out of babies way) and fasten the clip. It is then ready for use.
This acts as a barrier to stop your baby sliding down, and in my case it also makes sure their feet don’t stick out of the bottom bars of the cot either. It also helps the cot feel so ‘big’ when your baby is so small. For peace of mind, this product could be the one for you.
