The last thing you want to be doing is counting pennies and watching what you spend on holiday. Personally I budget throughout the year for our holidays. I personally do not smoke, so I think to myself that if people can afford to buy cigarettes each day which are like £8 a pack now, then surely I can save £20 a week to save up for a holiday for my family.
Putting the money I have saved into another account is always good too, especially if it’s a saving account where you have to go into the bank to actually withdraw the money. That makes it easier to keep it there, rather than having it in an online account where you can quickly dip in and out as and when you spot something lovely. The other way to save some money is to make sure you get a good deal when you book your holiday. There is loads of deals out there which can save you hundreds, I have been looking at last minute flights on cheapflights.co.uk to see just how much of a saving there is available, and I am staggered it’s so much! It means that you have more spending money available. Making sure you are booking a holiday at the right time is important too, I read this article in the Daily Mail recently which was full of useful information for each type of holiday, so it’s not just for family holidays, there is advice on skiing holidays and lots more.
