This Christmas interactive pets are all the rage, but the furry battery operated dogs and cats can lose their appeal very quickly, trust me as a mum to 3 we have had many interactive pets.
This Christmas interactive pets are all the rage, but the furry battery operated dogs and cats can lose their appeal very quickly, trust me as a mum to 3 we have had many interactive pets. But what about an interactive pet which actually provides more play factor than stroking it? The idea of giving your child a pet to look after which doesn’t cause a mess is pretty appealing…andActivison may of come up with the perfect thing….
Wappydog!
Opening up Wappydog you do need to put 3 x AA batteries inside him first. Then it’s just a case of loading the game into your DS and turning Wappydogs switch to ON.
As you can see, you get stacks of stickers to personalise your Wappydog too.
Wappydog comes to life and barks, and his eyes light up too. His cheeks also glow different colours, dependant on mood. He moves his head from side to side and can move his body to sit up and bend down. It doesn’t actually walk anywhere though.
Starting the game there is plenty of choice of activities to do with Wappydog, but most importantly you can give him your very own nickname. You can then talk to your Wappydog using the screen buttons which communicate with Wappydog.
There is also games to play with Wappydog, as well as levels to work through. You can feed your Wappydog a variety of treats including shortcake and you can even train him to dance, sing and do special tricks. When you aren’t at home, you can set him to Travel Mode, which is something we haven’t done yet. The games are great fun, and the feeding has amused my younger one for ages!
Wappydog is an interactive pet with a difference. It has more play factor than your usual furry offerings. The added features you get by having it compatible with the Nintendo DS is brilliant. There is plenty of activities that will last way past Christmas Day…even for the tiny ones!
We were sent a copy of Wappydogs for the Nintendo DS for the purpose of this review.
