Molehill Mania is suitable for ages 4+ and is or two players.
Opening up the box, the actual molehill is complete and requires no assembly. The two plastic mallets that come included also are complete and require no assembly. There is a bag of moles included too, again no assembly needed.
So the idea of the game is simple, you put the moles inside the molehill. Then each player uses their mallet to hit the side of the molehill. This then shoots the moles out of the top. You then smack your mallet on top of each mole that escapes. The mallets have a special hole that catches the moles, and once you have enough moles inside your mallet the mole on top pops up and you are the winner!
The kids had a great 10 minutes battering it and catching the moles, but the play factor is quite limited for anyone over 5 in my opinion. However, my nearly 3 year old loved it, andwas keen to point out the different coloured moles, which is great. I also think that smacking the moles is great for his hand eye coordination. It also is quite a noisy game, so if you like your children to have quiet toys, this is not for you! Overall I would say it has some play factor younger children, but would say it would suit ages 2+ rather than 4+.
You can buy Molehill Mania from all good toy stockists including Argos and Amazon.
