Pregnancy is one of the most expensive periods you’ll go through and while you’re maxing out the credit cards on items for the new addition to the family; baby clothes, prams, bedding etc. you may not realise how hard it is to keep yourself dressed as you are constantly changing shape and size.
In an effort not to break the bank and reserve your cash for the really important things, here’s a list of some pregnancy clothing can’t-live-with-outs:
1) Black stretch pants/leggings – Obviously, black goes with everything, so you know you have at least one item you can dress up or down. If you are getting to the stage where you think you are wearing them a lot, why not get two or three pairs, this is the one time in your life where you have the right to be as comfortable as possible so make sure you make the most of it!
2) Tunic tops – With the empire line and wide fitting arms, tunic tops are a pregnancy favourite. Not only are you able to achieve a really fun and flirty look, you have all the room you need to stay comfortable while not constricting the belly area.
3) Boyfriend shirt – Oversized boyfriend shirts are really in fashion right now and the best thing is, you don’t even need to buy one, you could just borrow one from your other half and since you are pregnant, they really should have no room for complaints! Checked patterns are the most popular and opt for a really soft fleecy fabric for ultimate comfort.
4) A wrap-around dress – Wrap-around is the style that is heaven sent for pregnant ladies. Like the tunic top, wrap-around dresses can be super feminine and often incorporate fun prints and colours too. If you are pregnant during the summer months, you will realise you are getting hotter and more frustrated during your pregnancy week by week, most wrap-around dresses are airy and light and help alleviate these problems.
5) Underwear – This can be your biggest concern, your breasts are an area that are most worrying during pregnancy and correctly fitting, quality bras can be really expensive. Make sure, to save money; you are checking the latest deals on sites like Bounty, they are really eager to help new mums and you could save quite a bit of money for your trouble.
