Marky is a big Jungle Junction fan, so when asked if we wanted to review this years brand new product Taxicrab Boat playset I knew he would love to put it through it’s paces.
It arrived in a rather large impressive box, the background includes colourful pictures of other characters available in the series but only included is Taxicrab himself. Taking it out of the box, the actual toy was complete, no assembly required at all.
The boat has moving wheels, so it can moved easily around for playtime. Taxicrab himself also has moving wheels, like the other toys available to purchase seperatlely. The wheels mean lots of scope for play, as just like the much loved tv program, they love to whizz about!
At first glance I was a bit disappointed, for the RRP of £29.99 I didn’t think there was a lot to the product. But my disappointment flew out of the window after Mark spent over an hour with just the boat and his Taxicrab alone! There is loads of features which might not be clear to a mere mortal such as us parents. So let me explain what my pre-schooler loves about it!
There is a plank which slides out of the side of the boat. This has slot for Taxicrabs wheels, but it also provides loads of fun as kids can ping Taxicrab off it!
There is also some moving doors which Taxicrab can travel inside and then you use the level at the back to push him up in the lift. This raises the platform inside to make Taxicrab reach the wheel to sail the boat. You can also use the lever to get him down again, and there is a little porthole on each side too for him to peek through.
There is a hole in the decking which you can fly Taxicrab down which makes him shoot out the back doors of the boat. Marky has found this hilarious and tried to put it back inside the rear doors.
It is built well, there is no little fiddly bits that will get lost or snap as far as I can see. Mark is not gentle with his toys, yet it is all in one piece still. Marky adores his Taxicrab boat, and although the RRP is slightly off putting, it has bundles of play value for a pre-schooler, more than you might imagine, especially if they love Jungle Junction.
