As a mum to three children I have had my fair shares of conversations with other mums about follow on formula milk. Now I am not saying that ‘Breast isn’t best’, we all know it is, but not every mum can, or does breastfeed exclusively for the first 3 years. So what can you give your child in return when they get to a year old? You want something that is going to be nutritionally right for your child and I make no mistake in saying that I chose Aptimal for Mark. My reasons behind choosing Aptimal was based purely on nutritional values. As my old fashioned mum reminded me many times, you are ‘allowed’ to give a 12 month old baby cows milk, but the iron needed in a babies diet is quite high. Let’s be honest, in a perfect world where babies eat anything and everything you give them you could rest assured they would be getting all the nutrients needed, but my children are not perfect and sometimes they will turn there nose up at something I spent hours creating them. So being able to give my child some Aptimal milk that I know has the iron needed is a reassurance that they have had a top up of some goodness. As a comparison Aptimal follow on milk has 40 times the iron found in cows milk, just 300ml a day provides over half the recommended daily allowance of iron needed for babies diet. It also contains a unique blend of GOS/FOS prebiotics and extra vitamin D and C. It appears I am not alone in my thoughts about follow-on milk, here is a video created with a real mum
Oh and the other good thing is that as it is a follow-on milk, supermarkets are allowed to do special offers on it, and you can collect loyalty card points too!
