It is less than three weeks until we move house. Now it’s not a little move around the corner, but a two and a half hour journey each way. We have managed to allow it so we have a couple of weeks lap, where we will have our house here, and the new house. But we still need to be mega organised. I have started packing a few boxes, which have things in that I don’t need in every day life but the task seems big and very daunting!
On the list of things to do is change our address for everything, the list is really huge and I am sure there is probably something I have forgotten still. I have to cancel the sky, get it booked for our new house, broadband, phone line, electric, gas, water, council tax, tv license, credit cards, driving license and banks. I also need to find a new doctors locally, and hopefully get registered for maternity care or this baby will be born in a barn!
I haven’t moved house for over 5 years, so I actually have no idea on packing boxes in an organised fashion. Even when we go on holiday I chuck everything we need in a suitcase and worry about it later, I fear my packing to move will resemble the same. Do I need a system? Shall I label the boxes for each room? Do I pack clothes into boxes or bin bags? The thing is we do need to be mega organised, and that is one thing I am not. We are renting our own van and moving ourselves, to save on the high fees that removal companies charge. However being pregnant I am unable to carry much, so it’s down to my poor husband to move pretty much everything this end! Wish us luck!
