My vacuum cleaner is the single most important item in my house, with three kids and a messy husband I vacuum at least twice a day. Not because I enjoy it, but because it is absolutely necessary not only to keep the house looking respectable but for hygiene reasons too, after all my kids are forever sitting, laying and rolling around on the floor.
We were sent a Dirt Devil Tempest DCC070 to try out and I have certainly put it through its paces in my house. Firstly taking it out of the box for the first time, assembly was minimal.
In no time at all I started to blitz my house with the main carpet floor brush nozzle. I was loving the way the head has rollers on it to help move across the floor. It has a height adjustment lever to allow you to use it on either carpet or hard floors.
Boasting a massive 2200w this is a high powered bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner. It features Microban antibacterial protection and has removable hepa filter which can be washed and easily removed. Included with the system is some smart accessories which include a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, a intense turbo brush and a dusting brush.
With a variety of floors in my house including wooden, carpets and vinyl, it done a fantastic job of clearing all mess. The turbo head is pretty special and removes pet hair, or in my case my extra long hair/hair extensions, with complete ease.
Emptying the Dirt Devil was easy, simply pop over the catch and the whole round cylinder comes out. With this you simply carry it to the bin and empty it. There is a book of really clear instructions included, which helped me massively as a Dirt Devil novice!
Unplugging the Tempest I loved the cord rewind button, simply press it and the cord retracts!
The only slight draw back for me was the cord length, but that’s purely because I have been used to an extra long wire and with extra large rooms I am too lazy to unplug for the next room. I am in no doubt it would be perfectly acceptable for the average house (and someone less lazy)
I absolutely love the Dirt Devil Tempest, it has everything you could possibly need for a families need when it comes to floors! It is really light and easy to use, perfect!
