Jordan was delighted when a box arrived with that familiar rattling noise, yes it was LEGO!
Ripping open the parcel as quick as he did Christmas morning, Jordan literally screamed in delight.
Inside our parcel was…
LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor & Death Star #9676. This is suitable from ages 6-12. Jordan is 9, but his dad was very envious so I am sure for the collectors aspect these will be loved by all ages.
Jordan was very excited that the LEGO pieces were all inside the Death Star! Opening up the Death Star revealed two packets of LEGO which would make Tie Interceptor.
Included within this set is a minifigure TIE Fighter Pilot.
Then following the instrcuctions Jordan built TIE Interceptor
Once complete there is a very handy little stand included which makes for a great display item.
Jordan loves the base as it gives it somewhere to ‘live’. I am sure many collectors will be cringing when I say it but Jordan loves taking the TIE Interceptor off the stand and playing with it before putting it back on ‘it’s home’.
At 160 km across, the Death Star is the size of a moon and capable of destroying entire planets! In Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, the Imperial TIE Interceptor battles in vain to keep the Rebel Alliance from destroying the Empire’s greatest weapon. Set includes an accurate model of the Death Star, a TIE pilot minifigure, a TIE Interceptor mini-model, a weapon, and a display stand with name plaque. Collect the other Series 1 sets: 9674 Naboo Starfighter & Naboo and 9675 Sebulba’s Podracer & Tatooine!
Jordan absolutely loves this, and with a RRP of £10, this is an acheieveable pocket money toy!
Next up to be tested out was LEGO Star Wars #9493 X-wing Starfighter.
Jordan almost self combusted when he saw this, it’s a massive set and creates a fantastic replica of the X-wing Starfighter.
Take to the stars in the classic X-wing starfighter! Featuring wings that fold into attack mode, proton torpedoes, retractable landing gear and opening cockpit, this most iconic vehicle of the Star Wars universe returns to turn the tide in the battle against the evil Empire! Includes 4 minifigures: Luke Skywalker, Jek Porkins, R2-D2 and R5-D8.
The instructions were detailed and straight forward for the age bracket of 8-14 years. Now being a bigger model, obviously it takes alot longer to assemble and requires more concentration. The instructions are 65 pages long with a couple of steps on each page, but in numerical order as usual. Opening up the box there was 5 bags of LEGO.
Opening up the first bag the first things to be completed are the Minifigures, then the internals of the ship. You then build up the model around this core.
With a little bit of concentration, which funnily enough Jordan managed to pull out of the bag for this, the model was completed within an hour!!!
Ta-Da! Here is the completed model!
This model has moveable wings, which gives great scope for play. With the four included minifigures this model has provided hours and hours of enjoyment to create those scenes from the films!
Both these models and loads more, are available from all good toy stores as well as online at http://www.lego.com/en-gb/Default.aspx
>They look great. Zak loves LEGO Star Wars, he wants a LEGO Star Wars cake this month for his birthday… eeeek
>Can't wait to get into big Lego, that looks amazing! We are still mainly on duplo here with the odd scattering of some free Lego from newspapers lol x
