As Graco Ambassadors, we get the fantastic job of testing out the Graco range. We have tested out many fantastic pushchairs and car seats, but this time I chose the Graco Contempo Highchair to put through it’s paces.

Opening up the box I found a very compact Highchair, this didn’t surprise me after all companies do pack things as small as possible for transporting. However what did surprise me is that hardly any assembly was required! It really is just a compact folding high chair.
So opening up the box we were confronted with the following:

Removing everything from the plastic bag I realised there was very little components!

It was simply just a case on popping the feet on. The front feet have castors which are lockable, one of my all time musts from a high chair. Then all you have to do is extend the legs by pressing a button each side.

The Graco Contempo is height adjustable, which means it can be used in 6 different positions. I love this feature as it means I can have Mark low for the living room when I am sat on the sofa, and higher for the kitchen. It also means I can get just the right height to fit it under the table so Mark can join us for family dinner time.

The tray that comes included fits on really easily and can be adjusted with one hand, a must when you have children and are balancing a bowl of food in your hand. Underneath the tray is an arm bar which is actually a little tray in itself, this is handy because it means a little bit of added security especially when the main tray is off.

On the main tray is a removable insert which can be popped in the dishwasher for a thorough clean. It is a nice smooth material and there is no corners where food can get trapped. The insert and the main tray both clean up really well and look brand new despite my messy Mark plastering it in weetabix, paint, play-doh, ice cream….the list goes on!

Another great feature of the Graco Contempo is the recline feature. With one hand you simply press the button on the back of the seat to recline the back rest. There is 3 positions so you can get the exact one for your child. Marky used to love falling asleep in his high chair so the recline feature would of been perfect for an impromptu nap!

The seat pad is padded, and Marky is really comfortable inside it. It is also removable to allow it to be cleaned thoroughly, but I have found the wipeable material that it is made out of comes up lovely with just a damp cloth and a spritz of antibacterial spray. Included is a 5 point harness which is perfect for keeping little ones safe.

Large tray with no corners for easy cleaning!

Finally, my favourite feature is how compact it is when folded. It folds really slim and with no feet poking out to cause a trip hazard! The seat unit can also be folded simply by pressing the buttons in, which means it can be even slimmer. A must when you have children and are lacking space anyway!

The Graco Contempo is an awesome high chair, Mark loves it and so do I! It’s really reasonable in price too considering all the features you get included. There is nothing on this product that I think could be improved. Well done Graco!

  1. >looks great, I got fed up with Emmy's high chair and threw it in the shed as I couldn't adjust it to table height 🙁

  2. >I love this. Never did get a response about the complaint i put in about the mamas and papas high chait we had. This is a def contender for baby number 2 when we need to wean. Thank you Graco for what looks to be a great product and thank you blog by baby for a fantastically informative review.

  3. >I love the new colours. Ours is white with blue butterflies, looks lovely, but like everything it ends up stained with "Something Orange" – the design on this one would hide my poor housekeeping much better!

  4. >haha I know exactly what you mean, we all have 'those stains', its inevitable with children 🙂 xx
