I have fond memories of Sodastream from when I was little. My nanna used to make me one as treat when we went round her house. I was always in complete awe as I was never allowed fizzy drinks at my parents house, let alone the excitment of getting to press that magical button to make my own fizzy drinks! I can still remember that familiar ‘hissing’ noise as the SodaStream had filled the water with all those fizzy bubbles!
When our Sodastream turned up we couldn’t wait to get busy with the fizzy! The sodstream we were sent was the ‘Gift for the enviroment Fizz’. This is a stunning sleek design. It was easy to assemble, all you do is add the gas cylinder and you are ready to go. So what makes this a gift for the enviroment? Well not only does it not use any electric, but it features BPA free bottles. It also means that you are not throwing away loads of plastic bottles from the regular fizzy drinks you can buy in the supermarket, and trust me, that is a lot in our house!
The Fizz drinks maker features ‘Fizz Chip Technology’, which is so handy to have. It shows you how much gas is left in the gas cylinder, and it also has a clear diagram so you can see how fizzy you want your drink.
To create your fizzy drink, you simply fill the bottle that comes with the Sodastream with tap water. You then screw the bottle into the Sodastream. You then push down the silver bit on the front, as you do the arrow on the digital display will move up to show you just how fizzy the water is. We love the fizz in our house, so always make it to maximum fizz!
You then simply add a capful of your desired flavour concentrate. I love using the concentrate, as it means you can pick what flavour you fancy, and as the SodaStream bottles are only 1 litre it means they don’t go flat before you get a chance to drink it, unlike those dreaded large bottles you get from the supermarket. Each concentrate above contains enough to make 12 litres of fizzy drinks with your SodaStream, meaning alot less bottles to be recycled. There is loads of flavours of concentrates to choose from, my husbands favourite is the Cream Soda flavour, my favourite is the Clear flavours, there is 7 Clear flavours which flavour the water with a hint of fruit. There is no artificial colours or sweetners, and the taste is lovely!
