>I was so excited to be sent a Melissa and Doug Wooden Car Transporter from WoodenToyShop . I have a massive passion for wooden toys for all three of my children.

My eldest son Jordan has autism and adhd, and really puts toys through their paces. We have a range of wooden toys that we have collected through various birthdays and christmas’s over the years, and we love how well made and robust wooden toys are. Not only have they survived a hyperactive and boistorous Jordan, but they have been passed down to my daughter Brooke, and are now being passed down to my youngest son Mark.

The Wooden Toy Shop have a massive range of gorgeous wooden toys, with something to suit every child and every budget too!

The Melissa and Doug Car Transporter arrived and Marky couldn’t wait to get it open and play with it.

I loved that the toy doesn’t come in shed loads of wrapping or any of those dreaded plastic ties! The cardboard base is fully recyclable, and our local council take plastic too, so I was pleased to be able to put all the wrapping in the recycling bag!

I was certainly not dissapointed in the quality of the car transporter, it is brilliantly well made. Mark immeditaly wanted to play!! Included is the the green lorry cab, with detachable transporter ramp. There is 4 different coloured cars too.

Marky quickly found out that the top ramp fold down seemlessly to allow the cars on top to get safely off, it also means they can drive on smoothly too. It is a brilliant clever design, that Jordan commented how it is just how the real transporters get the cars down! Mark and Jordan have spent hours pushing the cars on and off. Jordan has a problem with his joints due to having lax ligaments and hypermobility, so anything that helps his fine motor skills is a massive benefit to him, putting the cars on and off is helping to strengthen his fingers and wrists which will help him with his pen control.

We are currently teaching both Mark and Jordan their colours, so this has been a great aid to help them learn. The cars have been used in role play seperately too, with Jordan and Mark using them to whizz around the kitchen, the road map they have on their floor, and even up and down my walls! The transporter has has animals loaded onto it, aswell as blueberries and wooden cakes! There is plenty of scope for wider play with this set, it really got my kids imaginations going!

The cost of this Melissa and Doug Wooden Car Transporter is just £13.95, a great price for such a brilliant quality toy. http://www.woodentoyshop.co.uk/Melissa-and-Doug-Car-Transporter.html
