I was quite excited when I got invited to take Mark to help celebrate Postman Pats 30th Birthday, I grew up with Postman Pat being one of my favourite shows. It just so happens that I share my birthday with Postman Pat! So this morning I set off early with Mark in tow, to get to Westfield Vue Cinema in West London for 10am! A long car ride later and we arrived and met up with Liz and Lily-Sue from http://hartofthemunchkinpatch.blogspot.com/, and Lauren and Spud from http://spudandspike.co.uk/.
We arrived just as the event was starting and were welcomed in where there was juice and cakes for the kids, and coffee and pastries for the adults. We got a picture with Postman Pat, Mark was quite shy at this point but loves ‘Pat’ and his ‘cat’
Mark was delighted to sit and eat cake!
There was lots of activities put on for the children, including face painting, card making and mask making. Postman Pat made an appearance with an amazing cake. We then went in to see a special screening of 3 Postman Pat episodes. Mark loved it, it was his first ever time in a cinema, and he loved it! It was also his first taste of popcorn, which he is still undecided about!
Mark and I both enjoyed the episodes, and I was surprised how content he was! When we left we recieved a fantastic goody bag which included another cake much to Marks delight. We also got another chance to wish Postman Pat a happy birthday before we set off back to Essex.
It was a fantastic day, an awful journey back, but I am very happy to say I spent my birthday celebrating with Postman Pat!
You can catch the special 30th Birthday episodes for yourself at Vue Westfield this weekend with 11am showings on both Saturday and Sunday, book online at http://new.myvue.com/latest-movies/info/cinema/Westfield%20London/film/postman-pat-30th-birthday-celebration
