Last Tuesday Sara Cox launched The Tesco Mum of the Year competition at the Hilton Wardolf and bought her own mum along too. Sara Cox, a top DJ and mum of three, is the official ambassador for the awards and is calling for the public to nominate any mums they know that have done something amazing to help others.
The Tesco Mum of the year awards 2012 will be the seventh year it has been held, and are set to be the biggest and best yet. Eight inspirational mums will be honoured at the glittering, star studded event where they will walk the red carpet, enjoy a three course lunch and watch performances from some of the UK’s top music acts before being presented their award.

I’m really excited to be part of the Tesco Mum of the Year awards 2012, I attended the 2011 award earlier this year and was moved to tears by the stories of winning mums.
It’s so important to celebrate our mums and make a fuss of them because they really deserve it – I certainly couldn’t of got to where I am today without my own wonderful and supportive mum.
