I was delighted to receive a Boon Squirt spoon to review. Since Mark was just being weaned, I have been buying pouches of food to feed him while out and about, mainly due to the lack of mess and fuss. But what about an invention that could be mess free for the lovely home cooked purées that we spend so much time and effort making?? well the answer is the Boon Squirt!
The Boon Squirt has a squeezable handle that unscrews to allow you to fill it up with whatever takes your fancy. I tried it out with Yoghurt, a firm favourite of Marks that I never feed him while out and about because it just gets too messy. I managed to fit a whole large yoghurt into the handle. The actual measurements on the packet says that it holds 3oz of food.
You then simply screw the spoon part back on and its ready to use. It also comes with a special cover that seals the hole and keeps the spoon part clean and ready to use. It secures really well, and have popped it into my changing bag to use while out and about, it didn’t leak or cause any mess.
To feed your child you simply squeeze the handle and food gently pours out onto the spoon ready to be devoured by your child. It didn’t come out too fast and I found it really easy to control the flow. The spoon has gentle sides to stop the food spilling off the sides, but Mark could still get the perfect mouthful.
There is no mess involved, no empty pots or messy spoons to clean up. A quick wipe over and popping the cover back on, it was ready to take home to clean up and use again.
The Boon Squirt is dishwasher safe and came out of the cycle looking like like brand new. The part that you fill with food has no little corners that food can get trapped in, so its very hygienic.
The Boon Squirt is BPA free, Phthalate free and PVC free. It is suitable for 4 months+ and is available in a range of colours.
I love the Boon Squirt and wish that I had one when I started weaning Mark, as it would of saved me a fortune! This is a must have for when you start the weaning stage and right through for many years.
