I was fascinated to hear that they had created a one scoop for infant formula to ensure correct dosage of powder to water. So how does the ClevaScoop work??
It comes in 4 parts, 2 green pots that attach to the measuring device, and then a handy device to level the powder off.
To use this, all you do is pop the desired green pot into the device, turn the indicator to the desired number of scoops needed, then use it to scoop up the powder in one movement! The leveller can then be used to level off the powder and it doubles up as a handy pouring funnel, to ensure that every last bit of powder gets inside the bottle.
The two green pots each have 3 different settings to allow you to scoop anything from 3 to 8 scoops of powder needed.
All of the components of the ClevaScoop is BPA free, and they can all be sterilised and are safe to go through the dishwasher. It is compatible with most of the leading baby milk brands such as SMA, Cow & Gate, and Aptamil.
So what are the risks of not getting the right powder to water ratio exactly right? Well a bottle that has been made up with not enough milk powder would mean that your baby isn’t getting the full nutritional benefits from their milk, and it could also leave your baby hungry. Which can often lead to early weaning. Research in early weaning shows that it can cause obesity and heart problems later in life, as well as allergies and problems with their insides, as their digestive tract is just not ready for solid food.
