Being a MAM baby, Mark was lucky enough to receive the new MAM Perfect Soother through to test out. It come in its own box which you can use to sterilise it, so there is no need to use a full sized steriliser.
MAM have created the Perfect Soother to enable it to have a 60% thinner teat than the average soother. It is also 3 times softer than too.
So why thinner? And what are the benefits of it being thinner?
The MAM Perfect Soother is just 2.28mm thick.
Independent scientific and medical research has proven that there is a direct link between dummy use and baby’s jaw and teeth development. Even before the first tooth appears it is vital you choose a soother that supports bite development. Generally the thinner and softer the teat, the better it is for your baby’s jaw and teeth. The perfect soother helps reduce the risk of misaligned teeth by not being obstructive to the teeth that are coming through, or that are already in a childs mouth. When a child is young, their teeth can move easily around, so it is vital that nothing encourages this movement within your childs mouth that would cause misalingment. The perfect soother ensures this happens.
So how do you sterilise it and is it easy?
To sterilise the MAM perfect soother, you simply put 25ml of water into the bottom of the box. There is even an easy visible line so you have no need to pre-measure it out with a jug. You then simply attach the soother to the clip and attach the clip to the box. You then shut the lid and it is ready to pop in the microwave for 3 minutes. That’s it! It is then sterilised!
MAM recommend you leave the soother and box to cool for 5 minutes before touching it, as it is very hot.
I think this is a fantastic invention. It is going to be great for taking on holiday, visiting friends and even having at home. Normally we would have to get the whole microwave steriliser out and use that just for sterilising a dummy, with this I can just do one soother. Its less fuss, less mess and so much easier.
As you can see, Mark instantly took to the Perfect Soother and hasn’t let go of it since! I have the pleasure of knowing I have complete reassurance that this will in no way hinder his development of teeth and jaw.
