Drayton Manor is renowned for it’s ‘Thomas Land’ since it’s opening in 2008, and this year it has now increased in size by a whopping 40%. This is amazing news for Thomas fans.
Just a few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be invited down to see the unveiling of the new rides, and even try them out before they were unveiled to the public. The new expansion cost a whopping £2.5 million and you can see that it is money well spent, there is not only three brand new rides, but Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy has been moved to a new location outside the brand new Sodor Airport.
Sodor Airport was the main attraction when the Fat Controller unveiled the new rides to us…Sodor Airport is not just part of the background, but it also is home to the brand new Sodor coffee shop and you can even go up to the balcony which gives an amazing view over the whole of Thomas Land. It also is home to some brand new Thomas themed event rooms too.
There was Captains Sea Adventure, an exciting boat ride, there is also Flynn’s Fire and Rescue, where you get to put out the fires or ride the fire engines! As mentioned, Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy has a new location…
Toby’s Tram Express is a new ride, and was a hit, you get to experience a real life ride on Toby where you actually raises into the air and spin, great hey?
Sodor Airport is not just part of the background, but it also is home to the brand new Sodor coffee shop and you can even go up to the balcony which gives an amazing view over the whole of Thomas Land.
Any Thomas fan, young or old will love Thomas Land, and it can never get old. Remember, you also get access to the whole of Drayton Manor too, which is honestly an amazing place to spend time. My 12 year old loved the rollercoaster such as shockwave and g-force, and personally I adore the Zoo which is home to so many beautiful animals, it’s a real breathe of peace after some fast paced rides, great for chilling the over excited children out. There really is so much to see and do at Drayton Manor, it is a fabulous day out for the whole family and we cannot wait to go back!
