After a smashing week one swimming with Water Babies Oxford, week 2 was followed up with an equally great time. We done more songs and games, and baby Emma has a new found love for the song ‘Humpty Dumpty’. She also doesn’t mind being taken for a surface swim by the instructor to see the other babies and say hello, she is just so curious about the world around her. This week she had two underwater swims, one with me taking her under instead of the instructor. Everything was explained to me in detail, and with the instructor on hand to talk me through it and actually be there was great, as such baby Emma didn’t mind one little bit.
Each lesson we learn something new, and this week was blowing bubbles. Using some very cute spaceship style floating toys, we swim baby around on the surface and blow bubbles. It’s great fun, and Emma is obsessed with watching that little space ship!
Week Two…
Week Three…
Our week three is actually everyone else’s week four, as week three baby Emma had a stinking cold. It’s always a worry missing something, and a swimming lesson worried me as I didn’t want to miss out on learning anything. I didn’t need to worry though, the instructor is fabulous and explained everything to me that I might of missed, I couldn’t of asked of anything more!
This week we done more underwater swims, this time a moving underwater swim, as well as a standing underwater swim. Baby Emma continued to be the star she was previously and didn’t seemed phased by being taken under the surface. It’s made me feel more confident having her in the water alone.
This weeks new introduction was ‘Hold on’, this is where you hold your babies hands on the wall and tell them to ‘Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on’, this way they will hopefully learn to hold on when they are at the edge. This is something that is so worthwhile to teach them, even at this age, it becomes second nature. My toddler is now 3 and he still knows to hold on from doing just this.
Emma is loving Water Babies…
We have been supplied with Water Babies lessons in exchange for our blog posts with our honest thoughts and opinions on the course. All thoughts are our own.
