Paultons Park – Peppa Pig World Review

Last Saturday we were invited down to Paultons Park for a very special day. Despite it being 3 hours drive away from our house in Essex, I just had to attend. Marky is obsessed with Peppa Pig, and if you don’t know already (how could you not?) Paultons Park is home to the one and only Peppa Pig Land!

Arriving at Paultons Park I was pleased to see that it is located away from a town, so traffic was not a problem. They also have a very large car park which means no fighting for a space! Walking inside we were treated to some delicious cakes which were to celebrate the brand new ride MAGMA which we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at.

The MAGMA cakes were actually chocolate chip cakes covered in tasty icing, and verytasty they were too! I only managed one, but hubby had 3! Although that meant he couldn’t bear to try out the new ride with his belly full of cake…but I jumped at the chance and took J on. J is 9 years old and has no fear, partly due to his ADHD and Autism. At this point I hadn’t even seen the ride in operation so had no idea what to expect, walking through the volcano styled entrance, we were strapped inside a seat which were all in a circle facing outwards. Smoke then filled the air and we were plunged into the air! Waving frantically my hubby was shocked as he thought I had gone to put his cake wrappers in the bin…

Once up in the air it turns you and drops you at sudden and random intervals. Each and every time it dropped us suddenly I couldn’t help but scream! It was such a shock and sudden drop and there was no warning signs of when it was going to happen. J absolutely loved it and was asking to go again before his harness had even been removed. Waiting at the entrance was my 7 year daughter Brooke who begged me to take her on the ride, so off we went again….and again….and again!

When I finally managed to drag them away we headed over to Peppa Pig World. I had seen a map of Paultons Park before we arrived and it looked large, but I was not prepared for just how large it was. It is a vast place with plenty of gardens, greenery and trees splitting the park and rides up nicely.

Entering Peppa Pig World the excitement from the children was in full swing! Mark squealed at the sight of Grandpa Pig at the entrance, then at the first couple of rides he could see….then he saw the whole lot and didn’t know what to do first! It is a complete and utter dream for any Peppa Pig fan.

Peppa Pig World is made up of 8 rides, but the fun doesn’t stop there, there is parks, houses, displays, statues, a food stop, a massive shop and even a meet and greet with Peppa and George.

The fun doesn’t stop one bit, even an ice cream is a massive Peppa Pig treat as you sit in front of the duck pond which not only has replica ducks from Peppa Pig but real ducks too!

We spent a good 4 hours in Peppa Pig World but could of spent a lot longer there if I wasn’t so hot and annoyed at the queue times. I normally have exit passes due to J’s disability but I had forgotten his proof so we were queuing, a completely new experience for both me and the kids!

 J didn’t cope well with the wait times and for the sake of my own sanity and everyone else queuing it was better we just didn’t bother. That’s not to say it had much impact on the enjoyment of the day, there was so much to see and do just walking around that Mark didn’t mind not going on all the rides. 
Walking back across Paultons Park we found it to be quite quiet compared to Peppa Pig World, we managed to get on some rides with no queuing at all. I fell in love with the place and only wish I lived nearer as I am so envious of the season ticket prices where you can visit unlimited throughout the year.

Paultons Park was well worth the massive journey, but I do wish we had of stayed locally and made it an even longer day as there was so much we didn’t fit into our day. It is a lovely park in a beautiful setting with a large range of activities and rides for all ages.
