>On Saturday 22nd October 2011 I took the kids to a Halloween party to celebrate the new Mindshapes app, Caspers Costume Closet!

Working closely with Classic Media, Casper the Friendly Ghost® is the first property that Mindshapes has licensed. Casper’s Scare School is a CGI animated television series that made its global debut in 2009 and airs around the world on major broadcast networks. Developed for the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod® Touch, this playful app gently introduces your little ones to object recognition, sorting and grouping and memory recall by mixing and matching 15 Halloween costumes for Casper and his friends to dress up in.

My children couldn’t wait to have a go and quickly worked out how to use it. Brooke was excited to see you could dress Casper as a princess, while Jordan was pleased to see he could pick a cowboy outfit for Casper!

Suitable for children aged three to seven, Casper’s Scare School, Costume Closet allows toddlers to pick and choose a costume that Casper will encourage them to memorise in order to undertake a series of monster memory tasks. As the child unlocks costumes, the memory tasks become increasingly challenging. Unlocked costume pieces will be stored in the costume closet where children can dress up Casper and his friends. Once they have created their most outlandish outfit they can take a photo to share with their family and friends!

Mindshapes have created Caspers Scare School with their ‘Five I’s’:

Imagination, Immersive, Intelligent, Interactive, and Intutive.

The app was great fun for the kids, and I am happy to let them have a play knowing that it is educational too. Memory games are great for improving young childrens attention span, and we all know how well children learn through play! The children would of happily sat and played all day given the chance, it really does engage little ones!

Caspers Scare School is available to download from the iTunes store (Educational catergory) for just £1.99.
