My 4 year old preschooler is absolutely besotted with tortoises and turtles, and we have no idea why or how this obsession started! For two years now she has been collecting any tortoise or turtle toy we find on our travels, and we even now own our very own Hermanns tortoise called Bert.
But what makes this obsession a little more extreme is how for the past 2 years she believes she is also a tortoise too, I thought it was a passing phase, but 2 years on and she will still only respond to the name tortoise or turtle. Of course along side the obsession is the books she reads, her favourites at the moment are ‘Eric Carle, The Foolish Tortoise’, and Mr Men ‘Pets’ where Mr Muddle needs a new pet, and Little Miss Slow has a pet tortoise, on a skateboard (yes, really!). Both of these books go to bed with her every night. So what’s the most perfect item for a tortoise/turtle obsessed little preschooler? This…
Bemma now has her very own Tortoise tabard to dress up in. It’s made by ‘Pretend To Bee‘ and has a RRP of £16.95. It’s a nice comfortable design, it pops over the head, and you can wear the hood up or down. It has a couple of velcro bits for around the neck. It also has elastic sides, which also velcro apart for easy removing. The shell design on the back is all soft, as is the front too. This is a big difference to other dressing up outfits which are often not suitable to be worn for any longer than 10 minutes, which means Emma can wear this everywhere, she can sit in it, she can even jump around in it too….
I would like to say this is the perfect World Book Day outfit, but realistically it’s an everyday outfit here.
You can buy your very own Tortoise Tabard online here, and check out the rest of the Pretend To Bee website too.
We were sent the much loved Tortoise Tabard for this review, all thoughts and gushing are our own words and thoughts.
