As soon as I saw the Kiddy Evolution Pro car seat, I fell in love with it. As you all know, I love new innovative products, and this ticks that box perfectly. First up looking at it, the bright range of colours available caught my eye. I knew I wanted something funky, and so I managed to get my favourites down to two, lavender or zebra. In the end, the lavender won. I was not in the least bit disappointed when it turned up, it was even more beautiful in real life!
But despite the looks of the Evolution Pro, it has a special feature which sets it apart from rival products. Inside the seat is a special insert, a special insert that means when you recline the handle, the seat inside comes forward and lays flat. This means that your baby isn’t left in the upright position like most standard carriers, it is a much more relaxed position. Baby Emma has always preferred lying down to sleep, having this feature was amazing. My mother in law found this feature brilliant for getting Emma in and out, the special way it has been created means that when you take the seat from laying down to sitting up, babies back doesn’t get hunched up or pinched. That is great innovation.
The other features on the Evoltuion Pro are vast, it has height adjustable straps, which are easier than most infant carriers, you simply rotate the circle at the back and move it to how high you want the straps, it’s really is as easy as that. You can then adjust the strap length by pulling the strap at the bottom. Included with the seat is a newborn insert, which is cosy and would be perfect for first use when your baby is tiny.
The quality of this seat is far superior to other infant carriers, it feels solid, the handle has no movement in it. The fabric is nice, and the seat doesn’t scratch easily. The sunshade which comes included is large, and you can even buy an optional parasol which slots into the actual carrier too! Finally, as if that wasn’t enough, you can also use it with the Kiddy pushchairs, the click’n’move3 and city’n’move, review of the click’n’move3 coming soon.
My only grumble about this seat is the back panel, which I found to be a little flappy for the perfectionist in me. But after speaking to Kiddy staff at The Baby Show, they said that they are looking into getting this changed, which if they do it would make this the perfect first stage car seat by far.
Overall this car seat gets a 9/10 from me, it is easy to strap in, looks good, feels safe and sturdy, and baby Emma loves to ride in it. We LOVE it.
