Marky is a massive Octonauts fan. We have it on Sky+ and DVD. He has books, magazines and of course the all important toys. For Christmas, Santa bought Marky a few ‘Gups’ to complete his collection….however one all important Gup was missing…the GUP E.
The Gup E features in quite a few episodes of Octonauts, including ‘Kelp Forest Rescue’ and ‘Amazon Adventure’. Searching the internet for this final Gup, I was astounded to find they were going for a ridiculous amount of money on ebay. No word of a lie, one sold for £260!!! This is for a toy that retails for under £20. It is a piece of plastic, it has no electronics, no batteries, just a manual plastic toy.
So we decided to wait, with Marks Birthday in Feburary we thought we could buy it in January which is when Smyths said it would be back in stock. So we waited, and watched people pay outrageous prices on Amazon Marketplace and Ebay…..and I am glad I did as they are now available to pre-order from Amazon, for release on 12th January 2013 for just £17.99!

Mine is still on pre order too! saying no estimate for dispatch yet 🙁 Hope it arrives soon, as my little boy wants it for his Birthday in a few weeks!
Amazon are supposedly keeping me up to date, they originally said Feb 18th then I got a further email (Jan 17 th).
“We regret to inform you that your order will take longer to fulfill than originally estimated. Our supplier has notified us that there is a delay obtaining stock for the following items you ordered. “Octonauts Gup E” We are awaiting a revised estimate from our supplier, and will email you as soon as we receive this information.”
exactly what I had, but Smyths Toy Superstore are due to have stock in the next week or so, so I shall keep an eye on there and let you know if it comes in for online ordering 🙂
Sorry don’t know if you want to merge these but the £49.99 price isn’t direct from Amazon its one of the market place sellers.
I shall add a note to say that the Amazon price is currently not available. It makes me sick that market place sellers want to cash in from us parents for a piece of plastic that they know our kids want 🙁
Good to know that they are coming (eventually!). My little girl’s birthday is also in a couple of weeks so I may have to give her an IOU ! .

Just checked site and the only available to order is “fulfilled by Amazon” for 39.99! Booo.
So it looks like they are honouring the pre orders at the rrp (fingers crossed they get more)
Is the gup e still available at Smyths? I live in the US and can’t find the gup e anywhere. My son LOVES his other gups, and this would complete his collection. Any help/ideas?
